On May 28, LG Display announced that they've started mass production of a new OLED panel designed specifically for office and productivity monitors.

news-1-1

This is a pretty big deal because it's the world's first commercial 240Hz RGB Stripe OLED panel. They managed to combine the RGB Stripe structure with a high pixel density of 160 PPI and a fast 240Hz refresh rate.

The RGB Stripe layout is especially good for displaying small text and numbers clearly. So for people who spend long hours working on documents, checking stocks, coding, or editing content, this should be much easier on the eyes and more comfortable to use for extended periods.

It's also the first OLED panel to reach 160 PPI while using RGB Stripe, which makes images and content look really sharp. Another cool feature is the DFR technology, which lets you switch between 4K at 240Hz for high-resolution work and FHD at 480Hz for smoother performance.

The panel is 27 inches (26.5" viewable) and was shown off at CES earlier this year. LG Display plans to work with major monitor brands and start with this 27-inch model, with the goal of expanding the lineup and pushing more premium monitors to switch from high-end LCD to OLED.

Overall, it looks like OLED is getting more serious about taking over the high-end monitor market.
