On May 28, LG Display (LGD) announced the start of mass production for a new OLED panel specifically optimized for office and productivity use, further strengthening its position in the premium OLED monitor market.

LGD stated that it has successfully commercialized the world's first 240Hz RGB Stripe OLED panel, achieving both a high resolution of 160 PPI and a fast 240Hz refresh rate. This milestone is significant as it demonstrates OLED's growing influence in the high-end monitor segment.
The RGB Stripe sub-pixel structure significantly improves the clarity of small text and numbers. This makes the panel particularly suitable for prolonged screen use, such as working with documents, stock trading, financial analysis, programming, and content editing, helping to reduce eye strain and provide a more comfortable viewing experience.
This new panel is also the first RGB Stripe OLED to reach 160 PPI pixel density, delivering excellent image quality for high-resolution content. It features LGD's DFR (Dynamic Frequency & Resolution) technology, allowing users to freely switch between 4K 240Hz high-resolution mode and FHD 480Hz high refresh rate mode.
The 27-inch (26.5-inch actual) panel was previously showcased at CES earlier this year. It supports UHD 240Hz / FHD 480Hz dual-mode switching and offers 160 PPI in high-resolution mode.
LGD plans to collaborate with major global monitor brands, starting mass production with the popular 27-inch size. The company aims to gradually expand its product lineup and accelerate the transition of the premium monitor market from high-end LCD to OLED.
