What is the difference between the requirements of outdoor LCD screens and indoor LCD screens?
Generally, advertising machines are placed outdoors with strong light and have to withstand severe weather such as wind, sun, rain, etc., so what is the difference between the requirements of outdoor LCD screens and general indoor LCD screens?
1. Brightness
As a passive display original, the LCD screen requires a backlight to achieve excellent display effect. However, there is a strong correlation between the brightness of the backlight and the brightness of the ambient light. If the ambient brightness is high, the backlight also needs to be high brightness; otherwise, light erosion will occur, affecting the viewing effect of the displayed content. Therefore, outdoor light is strong, and outdoor LCD screens generally need to reach more than 1000nits, and higher brightness is required in special cases such as direct sunlight at noon. The indoor LCD screen is about 500nits, and its brightness is already good. Too high brightness is not friendly to the human eye and will also cause problems such as excessive system power consumption.
2. Power consumption
The main source of power consumption of LCD screens is backlight. The higher the brightness of the backlight, the greater the power consumption of the LCD screen. Outdoor LCD screens must be guaranteed to have high brightness, which often leads to high power consumption. Generally, outdoor LCD displays of the same size consume about three times the power consumption of indoor LCD screens. For example, the new high-brightness backlight technology can be improved to a certain extent, achieving high brightness and low power consumption, thereby saving energy. And it can improve heat dissipation capacity and save costs
3. The cooling method
Due to the large power consumption of the backlight of the outdoor LCD screen, if the heat generated cannot be released, it will affect the display effect and even affect the normal operation of various components. The indoor display screen generates less heat and does not require high heat dissipation. For example, the new high-bright outdoor LCD screen adopts all-aluminum structure and has an external heat sink, which can dissipate quickly and withstand high temperatures; the indoor screen can be naturally ventilated.
4. Intelligent control
The outdoor environment varies greatly, especially the intensity, temperature and humidity of ambient light. The outdoor LCD screen can automatically adjust its brightness according to environmental changes. The indoor environment is relatively stable, so this function is not needed.
